Photosynthesis Bible Study Template
My Journey with His Word
There was a time when I dreaded reading The Bible… I felt like I couldn’t understand anything that I was reading which caused me to feel this weird separation from God. I cried out to God for help because I wanted a deeper relationship with Him. I knew that reading His word would help. I kept trying to read His word but I had no idea where to start or how to retain all the Bible was saying. I started to journal and from there I would ask a lot of questions not knowing if He would answer any of them but it started a dialogue with God. As I sought Him more I saw that I no longer was burdened by reading His Word. In 2022, something shifted, a new hunger for His word rose in me, and I knew I needed to dig deeper. As I would read His Word, He began to unveil before me. It’s as if this whole time I was only seeing the Bible through my eyes. It was no longer about finding scriptures that would stir up my faith or scriptures that would stir a breakthrough. It wasn’t about me anymore but about seeing God. Now, when I read the word I am more than encouraged, I am transformed into His image.
How did this template come about?
I knew God was going to give me a resource for you guys just didn’t know what or when. I asked you guys “What areas are you looking to grow in with God?” the answers consisted of “Getting closer to God”, “Greater intimacy with God”, and “Studying the Bible”. I started praying and God showed me that all of those things were connected and then showed me a tool; a resource. He showed me a bible study template and then reminded me of the rose in the “She’s Deeply Rooted” logo so I started to research the growth of plants. As I read all the information He started to show me how we can apply this to studying the Bible. My mind was blown and in that moment I knew this resource would bring a refresher into your relationship with God.
Why Photosynthesis?
Photosynthesis is a biological process many cellular organisms use to convert light energy into chemical energy, which is stored in organic compounds that can later be metabolized through cellular respiration to fuel the organism’s activities. This resource uses the photosynthesis process as an analogy to study His word. This template is designed to bring you closer to God through studying His word and asking questions through the photosynthesis analogy. As you answer these questions it’ll open a dialogue with God and creates a space to develop a relationship with God. This is not a self-centered Bible Study Template; it is God-centered.
